1. Information We Collect
Hot Cold Coach collects minimal data necessary to provide our contrast therapy timer and coaching service. This may include session duration data, protocol preferences, and optional feedback you provide after sessions. We do not require account creation to use the core app features.
2. Health Data
With your explicit permission, Hot Cold Coach accesses and writes health and fitness data through Apple HealthKit (iOS) and Google Health Connect (Android). Specifically, the app may read and write the following health data types:
- Workout / Exercise Sessions: We write contrast therapy session records (start time, end time, session type, rounds completed, hot/cold/rest durations) as workout entries to your device's health platform.
- Active Energy Burned (Calories): We write estimated calorie expenditure from your contrast therapy sessions based on session duration and phase type.
This health data is used solely to sync your contrast therapy sessions with your device's health platform so you can view them alongside your other health and fitness activities. We do not collect, transmit, or store your health data on our servers. All health data remains on your device and within your device's health platform (Apple Health or Health Connect). We do not sell, share, or use your health data for advertising or any purpose other than the functionality described above.
You can revoke health data access at any time through your device's Settings (under Health or Health Connect permissions). Revoking access will prevent future session syncing but will not remove data already written to your health platform.
3. How We Use Your Information
Any data collected is used solely to improve your experience within the app, including personalizing session protocols and tracking your progress over time. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
4. Data Storage
Session data is stored locally on your device. Health data written to Apple HealthKit or Google Health Connect remains on your device and is governed by those platforms' privacy policies. If you choose to create an account, app preferences and session history (not health data) may be synced securely to our servers to enable cross-device access.
5. Third-Party Services
We may use analytics services to understand how the app is used in aggregate. These services collect anonymized usage data and do not identify individual users. Health data is never shared with analytics or advertising services.
6. Your Rights
You may request deletion of any data associated with your account at any time by contacting us. You can also clear all local data by uninstalling the app. To manage health data permissions, visit your device's health settings (Apple Health or Health Connect).
